Senior Management Liability Underwriter

About the role

We’re looking for self-driven, growth-minded management liability underwriters with a proven track record of success to join our team at Vivere. As an underwriter at Vivere, you are responsible for building a profitable book of private company business through the Wholesale Broker channel. You will navigate complex customer issues and priorities and lead initiatives in your book to meet team objectives for premium growth, account retention and overall profitability.

What you will do

  • Proactively engage with our wholesale broker customers to drive submission flow, win accounts and build profitable, lasting relationships  

  • Consult with brokers to understand their workflow challenges, account priorities and book make up in order to become their underwriter of choice.  

  • Navigate a strategic sales process by building relationships with multiple external and internal stakeholders through remote and in-person meetings 

  • Develop and demonstrate a broad knowledge of current and developing industry trends on both the product and the distribution 

  • Partner with cross-functional product, support, and customer operations teams to ensure customer success and secure long-term growth 

  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to the role by being a proactive and strategic partner to brokers, tailoring your approach to maximize Vivere product adoption based on each customer’s unique business operations 

What you will need 

  • 6+ years of private company management underwriting experience 

  • Track record of consistently meeting and exceeding growth goals and profitability targets 

  • Competitive and creative drive to win over brokers and think outside the box to get a deal done 

  • A demonstrated underwriting acumen with experience creatively solving problems and profitably underwriting all products. 

  • Demonstrated ability to run a consultative broker engagement process and to win over new customers 

  • Proven success building and maintaining long term brokerage relationships 

  • Highly effective communicator with good people instincts – able to build trust and work well with a diverse group inside and outside the company 

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented; great follow-through on projects/tasks big and small 

  • High integrity; enthusiastic about building a great company for the long term 

  • Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it. See something broken? Fix it.
